The Pacific Beaches

The Pacific Beaches are a good place to live also for those who like being at the beach.  There are many beach communities up and down the coast.  The beaches are popular with tourists also so price tend to be higher.  For those who like to eat out in restaurants there are an abundance of restaurants at the beaches to cater to the tourists.  Though the restaurant prices are generally more expensive than in the Central Valley, they are less than one would pay in a comparable restaurant say in the United States.

Most beach communities are close knit and the locals all know each other.  The beaches generally have a laid back lazy feel to them.  The people living there are much more casual than in the cities and towns around San Jose.  Living at the beaches English is very common and there are more expat's living in a concentrated area.

Housing is more expensive the closer you get to the beach.  If you look at housing 1-2 kilometers from the beach you can save some money.
